How much do we know?
A source is a published page or document behind a claim. The label measures what is documented, not whether a system is good or safe. Missing information does not prove that a safeguard is missing.

What it does
Built upon SSC's automated tool, AAFC's Document Detective Tool is a smart system that helps the Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) team streamline and accelerate the process of finding identical or very similar documents. The tool's scalable and flexible architecture ensures that it can grow with our needs and can be used in different areas without needing major changes for process optimization and efficiency. Discussions are underway to scale the tool in other departments.
If this affects someone
Since its implementation in July 2023, it has reduced manual work by upwards of 70%.

The score orders work, not people.
Review priority rises for rights-sensitive uses, missing sources, unanswered accountability fields, and old evidence. Strong official documentation lowers it. The score is not a verdict on safety, fairness, or legality.
A missing field means the attached public sources did not answer it. Coverage is uneven, publication does not prove performance, and a certificate has a defined boundary.
