What it does
Door het gebruik van het algoritme kunnen we meer/sneller illegale dempingen opsporen. Goed waterbeheer in Nederland is nodig om ons land te beschermen tegen bijvoorbeeld overstromingen en een teveel of te kort aan regenwater. Een goed waterpeil is belangrijk voor onder andere het behoud van natuur, recreatie, visserij en transport over het water. Het is belangrijk om illegale dempingen op te sporen want deze kunnen het watersysteem verstoren.
If this affects someone
Een medewerker van het waterschap controleert of de waargenomen dempingen kloppen. Daarna kijken ze of er vergunningen zijn uitgegeven voor gevonden dempingen, want dan is de demping niet illegaal. Vervolgens controleert een medewerker in het veld de dempingen die als illegaal zijn bevonden. Waar nodig wordt direct actie ondernomen door handhaving. Door deze menselijke tussenkomst weten we of het algoritme goed blijft werken en train...
