De uitkomsten van het model worden gebruikt door mensen die het kunnen gebruiken als maatstaf of ze zich verder in het onderwerp moeten verdiepen. Het model zelf neemt geen operationele beslissingen en is puur ter ondersteuning voor gebruikers. De gebruikers zijn zelf verantwoordelijk voor eventuele vervolg handelingen.
Voor de ontwikkeling van het model zijn diverse historische gegevens van KNMI weerstations opgehaald (neerslag, luchtvochtigheid, temperatuur, windsnelheid). Deze data wordt verrijkt met incidentgegevens uit GMS over natuurbranden en bermbranden. Deze data is verzameld van de jaren 2017 t/m 2023.
